History: The 2017 Acaopen

In May 2017, Daniel Dade, Isaiah Hawkins, and Charlie Nick discovered Varsity Vocals’ newest A Cappella competiton: the AcaOpen. Seeing the potential of the open, these three leaders of the A Cappella Community began the MSU Spartones.

The MSU Spartones are an open collaboration of all of the A Cappella groups on Michigan State’s campus, combining the abilities of the most dedicated and talented singers our community has to offer. Competing in the AcaOpen in 2017 and 2018, and currently in rehearsals for the 2019 AcaOpen in Dayton, OH, the Spartones have become a prominent part of the A Cappella Community.

The MSU Spartones showcase annually at Accapalooza, and are organized by the Community Coordinators, and other groups’ leaders.

For questions regarding the MSU Spartones, please contact the MSU A Cappella Community Coordinator.
